Gregory James Wyrick is an author, artist, photographer and musician currently based in Detroit. His written work has been interpreted in various audio and visual forms by international artists through his ongoing ekphrastic project: The Method Learned.
As a child, he studied under the renowned painter Helen Singerhouse Cunniff.
His written work has been featured in such places as PIF, Antique Children Literary Journal, The Surreal Grotesque and the Into The Valley of Hinnom anthology.
His photography and paintings have shown at Odditorium Detroit, Merge Gallery, Tangent Gallery, The Dirty Show, Corpus Illuminate, Poisoned Apples, INK, The Damned Show and others.
He has collaborated with countless musicians from around the world and has been featured on a plethora of musical albums and releases.
A collection of his verse from 1986 to 2012, The Method Learned was published in 2012. It was followed by the release of When The Day Takes in 2016.
His book releases include The Venus Vivisection, Before You Were Born, Eloise, Night Flowers and Trees & Fog among others.
He is a founding member, along with his brother, of the music projects Brown Paper Bag and Hymes To Hyapatia. Other musical projects include Gregory James Wyrick & The Hex Engine and the satirical, political band The Little Proud Boys.
